Dr. Ishi Khosla, Clinical Nutritionist, Delhi, will discuss the wheat alternatives in this video. In India, there are many alternatives for wheat. One of them is the rice in any form such as, poha, brown rice, polished rice, etc. The millets such as bajra, jowar, ragi, etc. can be the substitute for wheat as they do not contain gluten. There are soyabean, oats, etc which are also gluten free but in certain people they can cross react in people in gluten sensitivity. She tells that this aspect of cross reactivity should be understood.
