In this video, Dr. Ramneek Mahajan, Director - Orthopedics & Joint Replacement, Max Smart Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi. He says that it is debatable because literature shows benefits of both unilateral and bilateral knee replacement. The type of knee replacement depends upon the patient’s condition. Genearally patient comes very late when both the knees are involved. Dr. Mahajan will also talk on whether one knee is done and other knee is also bad then he won’t be very stable and comfortable for the rehabilitation program. He also states that when one of the knee is very healthy then it gives support to the other replaced knee. He will also talk about the conditions when can be knee replacement done or advised.
