Why do knee replacements fail?

This video talks about the reason for failure of knee replacements by Dr. Ramneek Mahajan, Director - Orthopedics & Joint Replacement, Max Smart Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi. The most common cause of knee replacement failure is infection followed by mal-alignment or mal-positioned knee. Dr. Mahajan talks on infection which is very prevalent in India because there are other associated problems or medical diseases which are not managed well by the patients, hence rate of infection is higher. He will also talk about centers which are not adequately equipped during knee replacement surgery and may be the source of infections.
