Covid Jab Covovax to Be Available On CoWIN as a Heterologous Booster
Given rising cases of COVID-19 in various parts of the country, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has recently approved registering Serum Institute's Covovax on the CoWIN portal as a heterologous booster dose for adults.
Covovax will be available on the portal in the coming days, priced at nearly ₹225/dose, excluding GST.
This action succeeded a request by Prakash Kumar Singh, Director, Serum Institute of India (SII), to the Union health ministry on 27/03/2023, which stated that Covovax is a world-class vaccine approved by the DCGI, WHO, and USFDA and proposed its inclusion as a heterologous booster vaccine for adults on the CoWIN portal.
