What is the effect of school screening?

In this video, Dr. Suma Ganesh, Head of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Dr. Shroffs Charity Eye Hospital, New Delhi, will discuss the effect of school screening. During school screening, there is an increase in the refractive errors every year among children. Parents are counseled of these children with refractive errors to keep their children away from gadgets, TV, computers. They should motivate them for outdoor activities. She will also talk about the lack of awareness of eye problems in pediatric population. Parents of such children dont approach doctors or they feel the child is born that way only and ignore the problem. Also, the government needs to ensure that every child in the community should be screened for eyes till the three years of age.
