What are the risk factors that lead to Diabetic Retinopathy?

In this video, Dr. Manisha Agarwal, Vitreo-retina surgeon, Dr. Shroffs Charity Hospital, New Delhi, will discuss the risk factors which leads to diabetic retinopathy. The risk factors are generally duration of diabetes and uncontrolled sugar levels. If sugar levels are well controlled then diabetic retinopathy will progress slowly. Also, blood pressure control, anaemia, renal status has an impact on progression of diabetic retinopathy. Hence, all these risk factors should be well controlled and retinal check-up should be done regularly.
