With continuation with presence of protein in a 24 hour urine sample, a sensitive, rapid, easily performed test is easily available called as albumin creatinine ratio. Microalbumin is calculated per gram of creatinine which the kidney is excreting. This test is helpful in giving an early diagnostic evaluation regarding the health of the kidneys. Dr. Dargar will also talk about how the urine sample is collected. The patient is not required to undergo the accuracy of 24 hour urine sample but can give a random urine sample too. Random urine sample gives approximately the same results as 24 hour urine sample.
