In this video, Dr. K K Aggarwal, Padma Shri Awardee, Editor-in-chief IJCP Publications, will discuss whether all patient require vitamin D level monitoring. It is recommended that all patients with liver disease should be checked for vitamin D deficiency. He further explains that if the level are less than 20, then they should be put on 2000 units per day for the next four months. After four months, maintenance doses are continued which is 1000 units per day. The liver disease patient have to continue vitamin D supplements for life long.
