Centre to Implement UP's Successful 'Health Mela' Nationwide

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Centre will replicate Uttar Pradesh's successful "health mela" model nationwide. The health fairs, held every week at primary healthcare centers, provide treatment to up to 3 lakh underprivileged people. The Centre will also implement UP's "dashboard" system for monitoring hospital operation theatres. UP's use of e-RUPI in the health sector will be extended countrywide to facilitate Direct Benefit Transfer. The Minister highlighted the need for continued caution against isolated COVID-19 cases. Additionally, PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stones for critical care blocks and health facilities. UP officials have been invited to present their best practices in New Delhi.
