What everybody should know about root canal treatment?

In this video, Dr. Mahesh Verma, Padma Shri Awardee, President of Indian Academy of Restorative Dentistry (IARD) and Vice President of Dental Council of India, will discuss about the root canal treatment. Root canal treatment is a very popular treatment used nowadays to prevent losing teeth. Dr. Mahesh will explain how a tooth gets affected starting from enamel, pulp and the surrounding nerves and tissues and when the need of root canal treatment (RCT) arises. RCT is a series of steps which involves removing the advanced infected tissues, tooth pulp, nerves, blood vessels, etc. in the root of the tooth. All the infected part of the tooth is removed with special instruments. After sterilizing the tooth, it is then filled with the inert material and a temporary restoration is done and observed for few days. Later, it is replaced with permanent restoration. He will also talk when the tooth requires a crown or cap over it.
