How should we collect urine for tests?

In this video, Dr. Sunil Dargar, MBBS, MD, Pathologist, New Delhi, will talk about the urine tests and how it is collected. Urine test is one of the most frequently prescribed test. Urine routine or microscopic examinations or culture sensitivity are prescribed. He will tell us how to collect urine properly as to avoid any contamination. Dr. Dangar will also discuss how to collect both in males and females. The midstream urine has to be collected. First and last drip of urine should be avoided. Before taking the urine sample, wash the genitals with plain water. Generally 10-15 ml of urine is required for testing.
