What are the types of hearing loss commonly seen in patients?
In this video, Dr. Nishi Gupta, Head department of ENT, Dr. Shroffs Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi, Have described the common types of hearing loss. There are two types of hearing loss: conductive hearing loss and sensorineural hearing loss. In conductive hearing loss, the defect lies either in the ear drum or in the bones of hearing. In sensorineural hearing loss, the nerves that carry sensation from ear to brain are damaged. Dr. Nishi will explain the causes of both the types of hearing loss in adults and children. Appropriate treatment is given after knowing the proper cause.
