What are revision implants for a second surgery?

In this video, Dr. Ramneek Mahajan, Director - Orthopedics & Joint Replacement, Max Smart Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi, will talk on revision implants for second surgery in this video. He explains the reason when the primary implants are removed such as infection, mal-positioning etc. When the implants are removed, some loss of bone occurs. This loss of bone can cause defects and the basic primary implants won’t fit back and hence the need of special implants arises. Dr. Mahajan will explain the special types of implants. He states that a revision implant is an implant with additional things added to it which gives it a modularity which can be in a form of rods, cones or wedges to fill the defects.
