What are the other forms of diabetes in the young?

In this video, Dr. Jayanta Panda, Professor of Medicine at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, will talk about other forms of diabetes in the young. One form is malnutrition modulated diabetes (MDM) in which anybody who is malnourished and not obese can develop diabetes. He further describes one more type of diabetes which is related to pancreas known as fibro-calculus pancreatic disease. In this type of diabetes, a tumor or calculi is seen in the pancreas. Around 90% of the sufferers of this type of diabetes are children. Dr. Panda describes the third type known as 1.5 diabetes which is autoimmune and seen in children and known as related latent autoimmune diabetes in the adults. The fourth type is Mody or maturity onset diabetes in the young which is mediated through genes in children.
