In this video, Dr. K K Aggarwal, Padma Shri Awardee, Editor-in-chief IJCP Publications, will talk about whether doctors should also get vaccinated or not. Doctors should also get vaccinated. Adult vaccination is necessary for health care workers. Doctors need to have annual flu vaccinations in the month of September – November. Also, pneumococcal vaccine is necessary to be given. Hepatitis B vaccine should be given three doses and thereafter every 5 years. Every 10 years, tetanus vaccination should be taken. Dr. Aggarwal also tells that all the doctors should be vaccinated for shingles which is an adult herpes zoster. All female doctors who are not married should be covered for rubella which can be troublesome during pregnancy after marriage.
