Why is violence on doctors increasing in India?

Prof. Bejon Misra, Founder-Director, PSM India Initiative, will talk about the violence faced by Indian doctors. He says, that in our country the law enforcement is very poor. The doctors are overburdened as the doctor-patient ratio is the lowest. There should be strict action taken against patients who take law in their hand against doctors or hospitals. The culprits get away without punishment and they continue committing these kinds of crimes on medical doctors. Patients get angry when doctors are not able to spend extra time with the patients and explain them in a proper way. So the time which the doctor spends with the patient should also be improved. A paramedical force should also be created who can help doctors in providing counseling to the patient.
