It is the throat infection by streptococcal bacteria which might lead to heart disease known as valvular heart disease. The valves become regurgitant or stenotic or both. A close follow-up is maintained for these patients. She will further talk on balloon mitral valvotomy. Penicillin prophylaxis is also checked in these patients.
