Piles are usually painless, painful conditions are fissures, fistula and proctitis. Fissure is a longitudinal cut in the anal canal. Whenever hard stool is passed there is some amount of trauma to the area. The management for fissure is to have enough water and pass soft stool and avoid being constipated. Chronic fissures need surgery. He will further explain about piles and its management.
