Does a Glucometer reading give confirmation of Diabetes?

Dr. Sarita Bajaj, Endocrinologist, Director and Head of Medicine, Motilal Nehru College, Allahabad will discuss whether glucometer readings give confirmation of diabetes in this video. Glucometer reading is a screening test, it is not the confirmation of diabetes. Diagnosis of diabetes has to be confirmed by either doing fasting blood glucose levels preferably on two consecutive days or random blood glucose test of more than 200mg/dl with symptoms or abnormal three month blood glucose level test known as glycated haemoglobin. She will further discuss about diagnosing diabetes.
