During the esteemed inaugural session of the 42nd annual conference of the National Medicos Organisation (NMO) held at AIIMS Kalyani, West Bengal, Jitendra Singh, the minister, enthusiastically highlighted India's transformation into a highly affordable and sought-after medical destination. He emphasized that the nation's medical landscape has witnessed a remarkable shift, as evident from the increasing influx of patients from various countries, including Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and even European nations. These patients are now opting for treatment at leading hospitals, including prestigious government healthcare facilities, in India.

Minister Singh highlighted the substantial progress made by India in the realm of preventive healthcare. He underscored how India had shed its previous image and is now widely recognized as a leading vaccination hub worldwide. This recognition has been achieved through concerted efforts and groundbreaking initiatives undertaken by the government.

According to the minister, "India has shifted from a sectoral and segmented approach of healthcare service delivery to a comprehensive need-based health care service by implementing Ayushman Bharat, the world's first health insurance scheme of its kind. The integration of traditional medicines with allopathy and the celebration of International Yoga Day has also contributed to the revival of the healthcare system."

Furthermore, Minister Singh encouraged medical organizations to collaborate with the government to ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services to the last mile. Such partnerships would facilitate seamless access to quality healthcare, benefiting the entire population.
