He was former Senior Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology, Head of Department of Endocrinology and Dean and Medical Superintendent of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Puducherry. He has completed his MBBS, MD (Medicine), Ph.D, DNB, FAMS, FICP, FRCP. Dr Das has taught the medical undergraduates and postgraduates in Medicine and Diabetology for more than 33 years.

Dr. S. Venkataraman is a Sr. Consultant Diabetologist practicing at Apollo Sugar Clinics, Greamsroad Chennai. He is a highly experienced diabetologist with more than 25 years of experience in treating all types of diabetes. Over the years, he has numerous publications to his credit. Apart from that, he has huge academic experience as a Professor of Diabetology and has taught in Madurai Medical College, and Rajaji Hospital, Maduria, and Madras Medical College. He completed MBBS from Madras University, Chennai, India in 1979 and MD - General Medicine from Madras University, Chennai, India in 1984. He received an award from IDF (International Diabetes Federation) for his paper on Pregnancy and Diabetes.
