Dr. Sameer Srivastava, Asst. Director, Non-invasive Cardiology, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi, will discuss about new anticoagulants. He says that according to the current evidence available, the newer anticoagulants are restricted to be used in selective indications such as atrial fibrillation which is non-valvular. The advantage of newer anticoagulants are that they don’t need to be monitored regularly with prothrombin time and INR. Also, it saves time and regular monitoring costing.
