Dr. Neeraj Saraf

Director in the Department of Hepatology Gastroenterology, Institute of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta – The Medicity, Gurgaon

Dr Neeraj Saraf is a leading expert in liver diseases in the country. He has large experience in treating all aspects of liver disease including viral hepatitis, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis and liver failure. He has one of the largest experience in the country in treating Hepatitis C with newer direct acting antivirals. Dr Saraf is an expert in managing patients before and after liver transplantation with patients taking advice from him across the globe. He did is MBBS from MP Shah Medical College, Jamnagar, Gujarat in 1995 and is MD (General Medicine) from R.N.T. Medical College, Udaipur in 1999 and is DNB (Gastroenterology) from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi (National Board of Examination) in 2003 and is Fellowship in Advanced Clinical Hepatology from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, U.S.A in 2005. Dr Neeraj Saraf is currently working as Director in the Department Hepatology Gastroenterology Institute of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta- The Medicity Hospital.


Dr. Geoff McCaughan

Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney.

Prof Geoff McCaughan, MD, PhD, graduated 1975 with first class honors in medicine and then completed a FRACP in Gastroenterology in 1980. Professor McCaughan received his initial training in gastroenterology under Neil Gallagher, at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, and hepatology training under Neil Gallagher and Ruthven Blackburn.He completed his PhD in cellular immunology in 1985, at the University of Sydney under Tony Basten. He then undertook postdoctoral training in molecular immunology at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford, England, with Neil Barclay and Allan Williams. He is currently the AW Morrow Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology and Hepatology) at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and the University of Sydney. He is also Director of Transplant Hepatology, the GE/Liver Diagnostic Laboratory, and the Liver Immunobiology Research Laboratory Centenary Research Institute for Cancer and Cell Biology.
