Overview

In this video, Dr. Santanu Guha, General Secretary, Cardiological Society of India, Professor & Head, Department of Cardiology, Medical College, Kolkata, will talk about the changes to be done in the field of preventive cardiology. He says that there should be programs available for uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes, etc. to be managed effectively. The current treatment modalities are not enough to manage the prevention of cardiovascular disease. A definite treatment should be planned for the high risk diseases. He will further talk about the guidelines on hypertension which are been formulated and are to be published.

Dr. Pradip Kumar Deb

Consultant Cardiologist in Kolkata

Dr. Pradip Kumar Deb is a Consultant Cardiologist in Kolkata with over 30 years experience in his field. Subsequent to obtaining MBBS and MD degrees, he passed the DM (Cardiology) superspeciality examination in 1984 from Calcutta University. Dr. Deb was the Chief Cardiologist at ESI Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Kolkata. He is a Fellow of the Cardiological Society of India (FCSI) and also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). Dr. Pradip Kumar Deb has been an executive member of several medical associations. He was President of the Cardiological Society of India for the period 2012-13 and also served as President of the Cardiological Society of India, West Bengal Branch. He has held the posts of Secretary General, SAARC Cardiac Society and Vice-President, Asian-Pacific Society of Cardiology. Dr. Deb served as Associate Editor of the Indian Heart Journal and has over the years contributed many articles to this and other peer-reviewed journals. Dr. PK Deb has also delivered several lectures and orations all over the country as well as being an invited faculty to medical conferences overseas.
