Sudhansh Pant – a senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, was nominated as the new Health Secretary this Tuesday. He is from the 1991 batch of the Rajasthan cadre and bore responsibilities of the Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways until now.
His new designation states Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Department of Health and Family Welfare. He will act in this new position beginning July 31st after Rajesh Bhushan retires. Additionally, S. Gopalakrishnan, Special Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, will replace Sundeep Kumar Nayak on the same date – as the new Director General, National Productivity Council.
The Central Government has been on a senior bureaucrat reshuffling spree, and 15 new officers are to adopt different duties in various departments in the Government scheme.
