In this video, Dr. K K Aggarwal, Padma Shri Awardee, Editor-in-chief IJCP Publications, will discuss about the recommended vitamin D dose. The normal requirement is 600 – 1000 IU daily for no risk individuals under the age of 50 years of age. And in high risk group it should be 800 – 2000 IU daily. Indians fall in this high risk group and the recommended dose is 2000 IU per day or 60,000 IU per month. He will also explain whether larger doses have toxicity or no and levels less than 20 ng/dl requires immediate supplementation.
